DUBAI: Global Village — the UAE and wider region’s leading multicultural family destination for culture, shopping, and entertainment — recognised partners and media professionals at its Annual Achievement Awards ceremony.
Held at the Majlis of the World, the awards were presented to highlight outstanding achievements in multiple categories and acknowledged the value partners and media provide to Global Village every year.
Global Village collaborates with hundreds of international partners every season to provide more exceptional experiences and a more wonderful world.
‘Best Pavilion’ was awarded to the Egypt Pavilion for the genuine and rich experience showcasing this vivid culture and centuries of traditions. The beautifully constructed Turkey Pavilion claimed the ‘Best Façade’ award. The Syria Pavilion won the ‘Best Cultural Show’ award for the jaw dropping line-up of shows and performances throughout the season and the India Pavilion won the ‘Best Craftsmanship’ award for their talented artisans who embody the country’s exceptional creative traditions.
Belgrave was this year’s ‘Best Restaurant’ winner, Cola Ribs won the ‘Best Kiosk’ award, Coterra Coffee was named ‘Best Coffee Shop’, and Gather On emerged as the ‘Best SME Kiosk’.
Partner award wins also included House of Fear and Lotus Personal Care for ‘Best Creative Experience’ and ‘Best Retail Shop’, respectively.
Global Village also acknowledged the efforts and accomplishments of entrepreneurs by presenting awards to two exceptional individuals. Mustafa Sait Kaya was recognised as the ‘Most Promising Entrepreneur’ for his concepts ‘Etisleri Restaurant’ and ‘Doyuyo Restaurant’ and Nouf Amiri received the ‘Women’s Entrepreneur’ award for her ‘Love Mhashy’ kiosk.
The awards ceremony also celebrated media and journalists that support Global Village and its associates by sharing extraordinary tales of the individuals who work tirelessly to ensure that every season offers guests exceptional experiences.
Diana Ayoub from Emarat AlYoum newspaper received the ‘Best Coverage in Arabic Publication’ award and Howeida Osman from Kul Al Usra magazine won the ‘Best Article in Arabic Publication’ award. Santhini Menon from Channel New received the ‘Best TV Coverage’ and Nasreen Abdulla from Khaleej Times newspaper won ‘Best Article in English Publication’.
In addition, Shinoj Shamsudheen at Media One TV claimed the award for ‘Best Social Media Impact,’ whilst AlIttihad newspaper’s Mustafa Abdulazim was recognised in the ‘Excellence in Media’ award. AlBayan newspaper’s Shireen Farouq won in the ‘Media Creativity’ category, while The National newspaper’s Christopher Whiteoak received the award for ‘Best Photography’. Muhammad Saleh from Gulf Madhyamam newspaper received the ‘Best Coverage in Publication – Other Language’. Maha Adel of AlKhaleej newspaper and Ahlam Alyacooub of AlArabiya TV received ‘Judge’s Choice’ award for best article and best report respectively and Samir AlSaadi of AlFajr newspaper won ‘Media Commitment’ award.
