Islamabad: The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has approved the five billion rupees Ramadan Relief Package 2023. While it has also given approval to abolish the storage charges imposed on the containers and cargoes standing at the ports and also asked for monthly report on the abolition of storage charges.
According to the Ministry of Finance, 19 essential items will be subsidized through utility stores in the month of Ramadan under the Ramadan relief package approved in the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet to be held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
In the meeting, the support price of wheat for the year 2022-23 was fixed at Rs 3900 per mun. Tariff rationalization for the first quarter of the year 2022-23 and the second quarter of the year 2021-22 for K Electric, imposition of an additional surcharge on electricity in the next financial year has also been approved.
