ECP decision to honour SC verdict of May 14 elections in Punjab

Islamabad: The Election Commission has started implementing the decision of the Supreme Court.

ECP started preparations for Punjab Assembly general elections. Punjab Assembly elections will be held on May 14.

The Election Commission has released the schedule as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, according to which the polling for the elections in Punjab will be held on May 14.

The last date for filing an appeal against the decision of the Returning Officer regarding the nomination papers will be April 10. The Election Tribunal will decide on the appeals by April 17.

The last date for publishing the new list of candidates will be April 18. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers will be 19th April. Election symbols will be allotted to the candidates on April 20.

According to the sources, the decision of the Supreme Court will be implemented, according to the order of the Supreme Court, the federal and caretaker Punjab government will be approached.

The process of training of election staff was also restored. The Election Commission will soon issue instructions to the returning officers.
