Islamabad: For the criminal case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Tosha Khana Reference has been sent to Trial Court.
The Tosha Khana reference has been referred under Sections 137, 170, 167 of the Election Act, the Election Commission referred the Tosha Khana reference to the District and Sessions Judge.
According to the Election Commission, the trial court should try Imran Khan for corrupt practices. It should be remembered that the Election Commission had ordered criminal action against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan.
Last month, the Election Commission had disqualified PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan while declaring his National Assembly seat vacant and ordered the initiation of military action in the Tosha Khana reference.
The Election Commission had declared that Imran Khan was involved in corrupt practices, he is being disqualified under Article 63 1P for submitting a false statement, and criminal action should be initiated against him.
The Election Commission declared Imran Khan guilty of misdeclaration and said that Imran Khan deliberately submitted wrong returns to the Election Commission and did not disclose the gifts received in the returns. He also did not disclose the income from the sale of gifts in the year 2018-19.
The judgment said that the bank records submitted by Imran Khan were inconsistent with the value of the gifts, the stand he took in his reply was vague, he also concealed facts in the returns for the financial year 2020-21, which resulted in They violated Sections 137, 167 and 173 of the Election Act.
