Lahore: The Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was arrested in another case immediately after getting the release order in one case.
A case was heard against Parvez Elahi for alleged corruption and misuse of powers in development projects in district courts of Lahore.
The anti-corruption police produced Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in court and requested his 14-day physical remand.
The public prosecutor took the position that Chaudhry Pervez Elahi should be investigated. He misused the powers and damaged the treasury.
Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza rejected Parvez Elahi’s request for physical remand and discharged him from the corruption case due to insufficient evidence.
The court directed that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi should be released immediately if he is not wanted in any case.
Anti-corruption handed over Parvez Elahi to Anti-Corruption Gujranwala after he was remanded and re-arrested in another case, and later he was transferred to Gujranwala.
