Islamabad: A recent investigation has brought to light a shocking revelation involving Farhat Shehzadi, also known as Farah Gogi, a close associate of the former First Lady, Bushra Bibi. Sources indicate the emergence of a secret foreign passport from the little-known country of Vanuatu, allegedly arranged to conceal embezzled funds and facilitate money laundering.
According to the investigation, in December 2021, amid anticipation of a potential motion of no confidence against the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, Bushra Bibi allegedly tasked the son of a prominent property tycoon to secure an international passport for Farah Gogi. A reported payment of $130,000 was made to another trader to create this clandestine passport from Vanuatu.
It is alleged that the Vanuatu passport, handed over to Farah Gogi on March 28, 2020, was part of a plan to shield embezzled funds. Six days before the departure of the PTI government on April 3, 2022, Farah Gogi purportedly left Pakistan on a Pakistani passport bound for Dubai. Once outside the country, she is said to have utilized the Vanuatu passport to travel discreetly, evading scrutiny from investigative agencies.
Investigative sources claim that Farah Gogi, using the secret passport, toured various countries to hide her alleged amassed wealth in different parts of the world. The sources further allege that her combined wealth, both overt and covert, surged to a staggering Rs4,520 million within a short period.
