Islamabad: The federal cabinet rejected the decision of the Supreme Court regarding the election.
In the federal cabinet meeting presided over by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the decision of the three-member bench of the Supreme Court regarding the election was reviewed.
Sources say that the Federal Cabinet rejected the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the election as being in conflict with the Parliament’s resolution.
According to the sources, it was decided in the meeting that the decision of the Supreme Court is a minority decision, therefore the cabinet rejects it, the decision of the Supreme Court is not enforceable.
Sources say that it was decided in the meeting that the federal government will raise its voice in the House on the decision of the Supreme Court. The coalition parties will discuss the decision of the Supreme Court in the House, the government will present its position on the decision of the Supreme Court in the House.
According to the sources, the cabinet has given a task regarding various options related to the decision of the Supreme Court. It was agreed in the meeting that no forum can be left empty, the decision of the minority cannot be forced on the majority.
