Islamabad: The Federal Cabinet unanimously approved the decision to retain General Asim Munir and make him the Army Chief.
In case President Arif Alvi stopped the summary of the army chief, the government took a big step and approved the summary of the retention of General Asim Munir. This decision froze the retirement of General Asim Munir.
The Federal Cabinet, while approving the amendment in Clause 15A of the Rules of Business, approved the summary of retaining General Asim Munir of the Ministry of Defense.
Now the President has withheld the summary of appointment of Army Chief and even if the President returns the summary after Asim Munir’s retirement date, it will be ineffective.
If the President will hold the summary for 25 days, then Army Chief General Asim Munir will be the same. In case the President does not sign, the Prime Minister will issue a notification.
It should be noted that any officer can be retained in the Pakistan Army Act. General Asim Munir will not retire on November 27 even if the summary is stopped by the President.
