Federal decides to help end terrorism in KPK

Islamabad: The federal government has decided to help the province to end the growing incidents of unrest and terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A meeting of the Steering Committee on Peace and Security was held under the chairmanship of Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, in which a detailed review of the recent terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Swat, was held.

Committee members MNA Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi, MNA Mohsen Dawar, Advisor to Prime Minister Engineer Amir Makam, former Governor KP Engineer Shaukatullah Khan and former Senator Muhammad Saleh Shah participated in the meeting.

Despite the invitation, committee members PTI’s Ali Muhammad Khan and Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif did not attend the meeting. On which the participants of the steering committee expressed regret and condemned.

In the meeting, various proposals regarding complete control of terrorist incidents were discussed. The issue of negotiations with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan was also discussed in the meeting.

The members expressed their concern over the increasing incidents of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and expressed solidarity with the people of Swat.

It was decided in the meeting that the federal government will provide full support for the eradication of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The steering committee agreed that a full role will be played to end terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and all possible steps will be taken to ensure peace and order.

The committee members took a position that extremism and terrorism are flourishing in KP but the provincial government is busy planning sit-ins against the federal government, the provincial government should ensure public order in the province instead of politics.
