HELSINKI: The first ever Ramadan Festival in Finland, organised by the Pakistanis in Finland Association (PIFA RY), kicked off on April 8.
A large number of people had the time of their lives at the special event that was the one of its kind in the country.
There were plenty of food options available to buy or to break the fast together. This beautiful tradition enabled people to get closer and revitalised the feeling of helping one another and, of generosity as well.
There was shopping and fun along with food to enjoy and people spent a good time together.
Ms Iram, the chairperson of PIFA (RY), said: “It was really a big surprise for me that a large number of people — irrespective of religion — visited the event and made it a super success. These kinds of festivals are very important, especially in Finland where people — in particular the Pakistani community — do not have many options to network with other Pakistanis.”
“Since the output was great and there was a huge number of people who showed their interest and happiness by attending the event, we will definitely arrange it at a bigger level next year,” Ms Iram added.
PIFA (RY) is continuously working on these kinds of events to bring people together to network, celebrate, make friends, and learn something new about another ethnic groups.
Another upcoming event of this year is the Kite Festival, which was a huge success last year as well.
