Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa was met by France’s ambassador to Pakistan, Nicolas Galli, in which regional security and other issues were discussed.
According to the Public Relations Department of Pakistan Army (ISPR), in this meeting held at GHQ, the Army Chief said that Pakistan values its relations with France. We look forward to developing mutual multilateral relations based on common interests. The desire to further promote bilateral relations was reiterated in the meeting.
According to ISPR, the distinguished guest expressed grief over the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. In addition, the French ambassador appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for regional stability and pledged to play its role in further improving diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest including defense and security cooperation and the overall situation of regional security were discussed.
