Dubai: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, Dubai (GDRFA Dubai), held a special ceremony to honor 50 retired employees who have significantly contributed to the organization’s journey of institutional excellence over the years.
The event, organized as a gesture of gratitude and recognition, was attended by high-ranking officials, including H.E. Lt. General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA Dubai; Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director General; and Major General Awad Al-Awaim, Assistant Director General for the Human Resources and Financial Sector, along with other assistant director generals.

In a heartfelt tribute, H.E. Lt. General Al Marri introduced the honorary title “Companions of the Journey” in place of “retirees,” highlighting the lasting contributions of these distinguished individuals to the growth and success of the organization.

“Today, we celebrate a distinguished group of colleagues who gave their utmost dedication and helped shape the excellence GDRFA Dubai has achieved,” said H.E. Al Marri. “Our doors will always remain open to them—they will forever be part of our institutional family.”

Major General Awad Al-Awaim also commended the retirees, stating, “A person’s true value lies in the positive impact they leave behind. Companions of the Journey have consistently embodied values of dedication and loyalty, leaving a professional legacy we are proud of and continue to learn from.”
GDRFA Dubai emphasized that this annual celebration is part of its broader commitment to recognizing dedication and fostering a culture of sustained giving, aimed at inspiring current and future teams to continue the legacy of excellence.
