DUBAI: The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Dubai Sports Council, has launched the “Dubai Cycling Pass” initiative under the slogan “From the Airport to the Track”, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and positioning Dubai as a global destination for sports, wellbeing and quality of life.

The first phase of the initiative was launched on January 10, 2026, at the Nad Al Sheba Cycling Track, with the participation of senior government officials, representatives of partner entities, sports figures and community members. The launch event saw wide participation from citizens, residents, tourists and cycling enthusiasts, with hundreds taking part in on-ground activities.
The initiative introduces residents and visitors to an integrated network of nine approved cycling tracks across Dubai, designed to cater to different skill levels, from families and amateurs to professional cyclists. The tracks include Nad Al Sheba–Meydan, Mushrif Park, Jumeirah Corniche, Al Qudra/Saih Al Salam, Dubai Marina, Al Khawaneej, Dubai Water Canal, Mushrif Mountain Bike Track and Hatta Mountain Bike Track, offering cycling experiences from urban settings to natural and mountainous terrain.

Officials said the initiative reflects efforts to connect sports with everyday life while encouraging exploration of Dubai’s landmarks through a mix of digital and on-ground experiences. Participants can document their achievements through a digital cycling passport, earning virtual stamps upon completing each track, while professional cyclists can use a physical passport with actual stamps and receive symbolic rewards.
The initiative will be implemented in phases, with each phase focusing on a specific cycling track to encourage organised community participation and engagement.
Authorities said the Dubai Cycling Pass builds on ongoing efforts to promote sports as a way of life, enhance community wellbeing and strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading destination for integrated urban, sports and tourism experiences.
