Islamabad: GHQ refuses for providing Pakistan Army, Rangers and FC for general and by-elections in provinces.
Ministry of Interior has received the letter from GHQ. In this regard, the sources said that in the letter, GHQ took a stand that it is not possible to appoint officials for elections in 64 constituencies and provinces of the National Assembly.
Sources further said that in the post, it was said that Punjab Rangers will be present only for the by-elections of the National Assembly in Rajanpur. It should be noted that the Election Commission had requested the deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers for the general elections in the by-laws and provinces.
Sources told about the post that the GHQ replied that the security personnel will be engaged in the digital census from February 27 to April 3 due to the threat of terrorism.
