GITEX Global 2025: Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi visits Sharjah Govt Pavilion

DUBAI: His Excellency Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, visited the Government of Sharjah Pavilion at GITEX Global 2025 on Monday at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The pavilion, held under the theme “Powered by Tech, Driven by People”, brings together 20 government entities, highlighting Sharjah’s pioneering digital journey and its vision of a sustainable, human-centred digital future.

During his tour, Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi was briefed on innovative projects and digital experiences presented by participating entities. These initiatives aim to enhance integration across government sectors, improve efficiency, and elevate the quality of life for citizens and residents.

The pavilion featured four central ecosystems — Digital Experiences, Environmental Sustainability, Smart Cities, and Our Humanity — each presenting proactive solutions driven by artificial intelligence, data connectivity, and collaborative governance.

As part of the visit, His Excellency also attended activities at the Sharjah Digital Hackathon, launched by the Sharjah Digital Department in collaboration with the Rubu’ Qarn Centre for Science and Technology and the Sharjah Youth Council. The hackathon seeks to empower youth and government professionals to design AI-powered solutions that enhance urban infrastructure and service delivery.

Key highlights of the pavilion included:

  • Digital Sharjah Assistant — a real-time AI-based voice and text assistant that provides instant access to government information and transactions.

  • Aqari Platform — a unified real estate hub that centralises property services, ensures data accuracy, and improves customer and investor experience.

  • Nabni Platform — an AI-powered system linking Sharjah’s municipalities to streamline building permits, construction supervision, and engineering approvals.

  • Empower Gov AI — a cross-departmental AI tool designed to support government employees by automating inquiries, permissions, and productivity tasks.

Through its participation in GITEX Global 2025, Sharjah reaffirmed its status as a regional and global leader in digital governance, demonstrating how technology, when centred on people, can drive sustainable innovation and enhance societal well-being.

Sheikh Dr Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi was accompanied by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, Director of the Municipal Affairs Department; along with senior officials and representatives of the participating entities.
