Govt’s prepared alternative plan over President obstruction in COAS appointment

Islamabad: After the PTI chairman’s statement, the government has started considering alternative operations for important appointments.

In case of stopping the Prime Minister’s advice by the President, the plan B of the government came to the fore. According to which the government will issue a notification to amend the Rules of Business from the Cabinet Secretary and remove the recommendation for the appointment of the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army Chief from the list.

According to the sources, the Prime Minister has the authority to relax the rules under Rule 57 even without the approval of the Cabinet.
