HWPL Conducts Pre-RPA Briefings in Tanzania Ahead of February Int’l Religious Peace Academy

Sessions emphasize local engagement, interfaith dialogue, and youth participation

DAR ES SALAAM: The Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) organization began pre-briefings for its International Religious Peace Academy (IRPA) on 3 January in Tanzania, ahead of the main program scheduled for 28 February.

The Pre-RPA sessions focused on explaining IRPA’s objectives, operational structure, and implementation strategies, while examining how the program could be adapted to local contexts. HWPL presented the overall vision for the 2026 academy, along with key schedules and features, enabling participants to evaluate their potential involvement.

Tanzania, a religiously diverse nation with significant Christian and Muslim populations, has experienced periodic interfaith tensions, particularly in coastal regions. Recognizing the importance of social cohesion, HWPL emphasized engaging youth, religious leaders, and civil society to foster dialogue and cooperation.

The sessions also highlighted HWPL Tanzania’s prior work with universities and youth groups in Dar es Salaam, including peace declaration ceremonies and environmental initiatives, providing a foundation for community engagement in the upcoming IRPA.

Mr. Markos Dakka, Director of Yehiwot Berhan Church of Ethiopia and a prospective IRPA participant, praised the briefings, saying, “The opportunity to raise questions and share views in advance demonstrated an openness in how IRPA and HWPL approach local engagement.”

HWPL noted that feedback and questions gathered during the Pre-RPA sessions would inform final preparations for the February academy, ensuring that local perspectives are incorporated into program operations. The initiative aims to strengthen interfaith understanding, promote cooperative action, and enhance HWPL’s international and country-specific efforts.
