Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has appointed Ikhtiar Wali Khan as his coordinator on information for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) affairs, with immediate effect. The appointment, which is in an honorary capacity, aims to enhance communication and public engagement regarding party affairs in the region.
A notification issued by the Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the appointment, adding that all relevant stakeholders have been urged to extend full cooperation to Mr. Khan in the performance of his official duties.
The development follows a meeting between Prime Minister Sharif and Ikhtiar Wali Khan on Wednesday, where they discussed matters of mutual interest, including the current political situation in the country. During their discussions, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to improve public outreach and engagement with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in relation to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party’s activities in the province.

Ikhtiar Wali Khan, a senior PML-N leader, has been entrusted with the responsibility of further strengthening the party’s presence in KP and facilitating communication between the government and the public.
The Prime Minister’s Office has urged all parties involved to support Mr. Khan in fulfilling his role, which is seen as crucial to enhancing the party’s visibility and fostering better relations with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
