IMF delegation meets PTI Chairman in Lahore

Lahore: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation on Friday meet Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Zaman Park, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has welcomed the agreement of three billion dollars.

According to the sources, the meeting between the IMF delegation and Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf at Zaman Park lasted for more than an hour, in which the vice-chairman of the party, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, also participated.

In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the IMF agreement. After which the IMF delegation left.

PTI leader and spokesman of party Hamad Azhar said regarding the meeting that during the meeting at Zaman Park, IMF chief for Pakistan Nathan Porter was present from Washington via video link, while the representative for Pakistan Esther Perez was present in Zaman Park.

He said that there was an hour-long meeting with IMF officials, in which PTI Chairman along with Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Shaukat Tareen, Umar Ayub, Dr. Sania Nishtar, Shibli Faraz, Hammad Azhar and Muzamil Aslam were present.

Hamad Izhar said that in the meeting, there was a discussion on the nine-month short-term loan agreement between the IMF and Pakistan, in which three billion dollars will be given to Pakistan for nine months.

He said that PTI supports the overall objectives and key policies and welcomes the agreement with the IMF.

Hamad Azhar said that we welcome the agreement until the national elections in the fall of this year and the formation of a new government, and also emphasized the importance of the program to protect the low-income group from inflation.
