IMF seeks time to review MFFP

Islamabad: The review mission of the International Monetary Fund has sought time to review the Memorandum of Economics and Fiscal Policy (MFFP) submitted by Pakistan, due to which Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) ) virtual negotiations for the ninth review between the two sides were postponed for a day.

Sources in the finance ministry said the virtual talks have been postponed at the request of the IMF review mission, which has asked for time to review the MEFP.

Sources say that the IMF will begin negotiations after reviewing the implementation of preconditions and is expected to conclude a staff agreement with the IMF next week after the completion of the ninth economic review and the matter. It will be sent to the IMF board and then after the approval, the next installment of the loan will be released to Pakistan, after which the program will be on track and after that the funding announced by the friendly countries and donor organizations and countries will also start getting. will go
