The Pakistani Consulate in Dubai offered condolences on the death of Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani

Consul General of Pakistan to Dubai Hassan Afzal Khan said that Pakistan’s position on Kashmir issue has not changed yet. He said that India should end the siege of occupied Kashmir and should stop its efforts to change the demographics of Kashmir.

Hassan Afzal Khan said that the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through self-determination as the voice of Kashmiris cannot be suppressed by force. He lamented the forcible burial of Hurriyat leader Ali Gilani in the night and said that India had violated international humanitarian law which was a shameful act.

Kashmir leader Hafiz Atiq said that Ali Gilani had endured hardships in Delhi’s Tihar Jail only for the sake of independence from India but he did not compromise on freedom ideology.

Kashmiri leader Sardar Javed Yaqoob said that Syed Ali Gilani was not the leader of any party but the leader of the freedom fighters.

He said that Kashmiris had sacrificed three generations in occupied Kashmir but were not ready to compromise on independence.

For the independence of Kashmir, he said that we have to make a practical effort on our own. However, he regretted that the Kashmiri community of Pakistan side of Kashmir is engaged in “property business”, now the struggle for independence does not seem to be their goal.

Kashmiri leader Raja Ashiq said that the struggle for independence of Kashmir needs to be revived with courage and bravery.

The flame of the need of independence cannot be extinguished by intimidation, he added. He paid tribute to the struggle of the Afghan people and hoped that the occupying forces would soon have to flee Kashmir as well.

Kashmir leader Raja Jabbar said that the forced funeral of Ali Gilani exposed the true face of India in the world.

Young Kashmiri leader Sajid Abbasi said that Indian domination over occupied Kashmir was unnatural and the path of independence paved by Hurriyat leader Ali Gilani could never be compromised.

Young Kashmiri leader Amjad Kabir said that Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani had spent his fifty years only for independence from India, now it is the duty of Kashmiri nation to fulfill his dream.

Ghulam Rasool of Pakistan Association Dubai said that Hurriyat leader Ali Gilani continued his struggle till his last breath and Kashmiri nation would also continue its efforts for independence.

Moreover, Nazir Chaudhry, Imran Ali Jan, Arshad Mahmood and other Kashmiri leaders addressed the function and saluted the struggle of senior Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani. At the end of the ceremony, prayers were offered for the martyrs of Kashmir.
