Imran Khan arrested in Al-Qadir Trust case

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau from the Islamabad High Court, where the former prime minister had gone to seek bail in multiple cases.

The NAB says that Imran Khan was taken into custody by Rangers in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
Islamabad’s Inspector General of Police Dr Akbar Nasir Khan said the situation was under control.
Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq took serious note of the incident and ordered the IG, the interior secretary and additional attorney general to appear before it within “15 minutes”. The AAG was also asked to find out who was behind Imran Khan’s arrest.
“If an inquiry has to be conducted, action will also be taken against the prime minister and ministers,” the chief justice said, asking “in which case the arrest was made”.
