While acknowledging that the issue is currently sub-judice and discouraged from public discussion, he mentioned that the commission previously established for missing persons will present its report on the recovery of 25 missing persons to the court.
Responding to questions, Bugti clarified the distinctions between self-disappearance, enforced disappearance, and missing persons, noting the complexities involved. He highlighted that the commission’s role is to categorize cases after a thorough review.
Bugti acknowledged the nationwide nature of the problem, stressing that while the caretaker government has a limited mandate, it is dedicated to making every possible effort within its domain.
In a move to address concerns directly, Bugti announced that, on the court’s direction, he will invite family members of Baloch missing persons to a dinner where he will listen to their grievances.
The caretaker government aims to ensure transparency and take concrete steps towards resolving this pressing issue.”
