The remains of Pakistani pilgrims who tragically lost their lives in Iran Bus accident have been repatriated on a special flight. The accident, which occurred near the Taftan-Dehshir checkpoint, claimed the lives of 28 Pakistanis and left several others injured.
The bus, carrying pilgrims en route to participate in Arbaeen, crashed into a wall and overturned due to speeding and brake failure. The vehicle caught fire shortly after the collision, exacerbating the tragedy.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had promptly ordered the repatriation of the deceased pilgrims who lost thier lives in Iran bus accident. The special flight carrying their remains landed in Jacobabad at approximately 11 p.m. on Friday. In addition to the bodies, some of the injured pilgrims were also repatriated.

A special condolence ceremony was held at Yazd airport before the flight’s departure, attended by Yazd’s governor, local officials, and representatives from the Pakistani embassy. The ceremony honored the victims and expressed condolences to their families.
The accident occurred on Wednesday night when the bus, with 53 passengers including 14 women, veered off the road. Emergency services swiftly responded, transporting the victims and injured to nearby hospitals.
Among the deceased, 10 were from Khairpur and six from Kashmore. The repatriation of the bodies and injured is a significant step in providing closure and support to the grieving families.
