Iran’s President, Ebrahim Raisi, is visiting Pakistan from April 22 to 24, along with a group of important people, including his spouse and government officials. This visit is significant because it’s the first time a head of state has visited Islamabad since the elections on February 8.
The Foreign Ministry confirmed the visit on Monday after carefully planning security measures to ensure President Raisi’s safety. Due to tensions with Israel, many law enforcement and intelligence agencies are involved in making sure the visit goes smoothly. Security measures include air surveillance and temporarily suspending internet services during the President’s movements.
President Ebrahim Raisi will meet with Pakistani leaders, including the President and Prime Minister, to discuss strengthening ties between the two countries. They will talk about trade, energy, agriculture, and other important issues. Both countries also plan to work together to fight terrorism, which is a common threat.

One important topic of discussion will be the Pak-Iran gas pipeline, which is essential for both countries’ economies. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to deepen cooperation between Pakistan and Iran, despite a setback earlier this year when tensions rose due to cross-border incidents.
In January, relations soured after Pakistan responded to attacks from Iran by targeting terrorists within Iranian territory. However, diplomatic ties have since been restored, and both countries’ ambassadors have returned to their posts.
Overall, President Raisi’s visit underscores the importance of cooperation between Pakistan and Iran and their commitment to strengthening their relationship.
