Islamabad High Court rejects Swati’s petition

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court rejected Azam Swati’s request to seek details of the cases from other provinces and said that the cases against Azam Swati took place in areas outside the jurisdiction of the court, so we cannot issue orders to Sindh and Balochistan. The petitioner may refer to the relevant forums.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq has issued a safe decision on the request of Azam Swati from December 2. The court has said in the decision that two FIRs of one incident cannot be registered under the decision of the Saghran Bibi case, however, on the decision of the Supreme Court. A mechanism for action may be formed.

The decision has said that a system can be made to link police stations across the country, the Ministry of Interior or any agency can make a mechanism to make FIR information available. Authorities may also suggest some other mechanism in this regard.

The court has written in its decision that it is not the right of the accused to get the information of pending cases against him, but if a case is registered against the accused, he can get a copy of it.

The court, while disposing of the application, further said that Azam Swati can refer to the relevant forums.
