Italy: 58 including 28 Pakistanis killed in Migrant boat crash

Rome: 58 migrants, including 28 Pakistanis, were killed in an accident on a migrant boat in Italy.

According to foreign media, a boat carrying more than 140 migrants ran aground in rough seas off the southern coast of Crotone, Italy, killing at least 58 people, including children.

According to the report, immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran were on board the boat, among the dead were an infant girl and several children. Pakistanis are said to be from Gujrat, Kharian, Mandi Bahauddin. Parents in Pakistan are waiting for the bodies of their sons.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office of Pakistan says that we are keeping a close eye on the reports regarding the possible presence of Pakistanis in the ship that sank off the coast of Italy.

It should be noted that Italy is an important landing point for migrants trying to enter Europe by sea, where the Central Mediterranean route is considered one of the most dangerous routes in the world.

According to the Missing Migrant Project, an international organization for migrants, at least 20,333 people have died and gone missing in the Central Mediterranean since 2014.
