Karachi (Leading News) The Jewish festival of lights “Hanukkah” is being celebrated all over the world. In this regard, the Jewish community has decorated Eid al-Anwar candlesticks worldwide.
In which Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Bahai believers and leaders participated and expressed solidarity with the Jews. Chairman Interfaith Commission for Peace and Harmony in Pakistan (ICPH) Imam Allama Ahsan Siddiqui also participated and prayed for Ravadri among religions and unity in Pakistan.
Anila Ali, head of the American Muslim Multifaith Empowerment Council, a spirit of interfaith harmony and a women’s non-governmental organization, organized an event in Karachi on Hanukkah, the festival of lights, which was attended by people from different schools of thought and Pakistan. Efforts to promote inter-religious tolerance were appreciated.
Anila Ali said on the occasion that the festivals of different religions convey the message of peace and create closeness among the followers of other religions by removing misunderstandings.
Hanukkah Sunday 17 December Hanukkah will be celebrated for the next 7 nights and 8 days, commemorating the miracle of the illumination in the Temple in Jerusalem.
At night, Jews light menorahs (seven-branched candlesticks) and perform special prayers.
Many Islamic countries also have a lamp on Hanukkah, and candlesticks are also lit in Karachi.
