Journalist Nasrullah Gadani laid to rest

The journalistic community mourns the loss of Nasrullah Gadani, a dedicated reporter who tragically lost his life to a targeted attack. Gadani, affiliated with a Sindhi newspaper, was laid to rest in Ghotki after succumbing to bullet wounds sustained in the assault.

The incident unfolded when unidentified assailants on motorcycles ambushed Gadani near Korai Goth, a mere 12 kilometers from Mirpur Mathelo. Despite immediate medical attention at Civil Hospital Mirpur Mathelo and subsequent surgery in Rahim Yar Khan, Gadani’s condition remained critical. The Sindh government intervened, arranging for his transfer to Karachi for advanced medical care, covering all associated expenses. Despite these efforts, Gadani passed away on Friday morning, leaving the journalistic community in mourning.

In response to the journalist’s tragic death, colleagues united in protest, boycotting proceedings at the Sindh Assembly and demanding swift justice for Gadani’s killers. The provincial government engaged in dialogue with journalist representatives, assuring them of decisive action. Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar disclosed that three individuals have been apprehended, pledging to apprehend the perpetrators within a week.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, and other officials echoed sentiments of grief and condemnation over Gadani’s untimely passing. As investigations continue and calls for justice intensify, the legacy of Nasrullah Gadani stands as a testament to the bravery and dedication of journalists committed to truth and accountability.
