ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Sunday administered the oath of Chief Justice of Pakistan to Justice Qazi Faez Isa, the most senior Judge of the Supreme Court.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, senior military leadership, governors, caretaker chief ministers and caretaker ministers attended the oath-taking ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the official news agency reported.
Besides, judges of the Supreme Court, Islamabad High Court and Federal Shariat Court, office-bearers of bars, law officers, members of bars and former judges were also present on the occasion.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa became the 29th Chief Justice of Pakistan.
Justice Isa has an over 45 years’ association with the law. He worked as a lawyer for about 27 years and was appointed the Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court on August 5, 2009.
He was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court on September 5, 2014.
