Kashmiris to continue freedom struggle till achievement of freedom: AJK PM

MIRPUR: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, reiterating the Kashmiris’ pledge to continue the ongoing struggle for freedom to its logical conclusion, said that the movement would continue until the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) achieve their goal of freedom.
He made these assertions while addressing a public gathering in Town Tatta Pani of Kotli district.
Denouncing the barbarism and brutality inflicted upon the people of occupied Kashmir by India, the prime minister expressed the optimism that the day was not far when India’s imperialistic presence in the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmiri would come to an end and brothers and sisters who made unprecedented sacrifices would be free from the Indian bondage.
He also paid great tributes to valiant people who had been bearing the brunt of Indian firing and shelling across the Line of Control (LoC), the official news agency reported.
Reiterating his government’s all out support to the Kashmiris’ struggle, the PM said the people and AJK government would never leave their brethren in the IIOJK alone in their battle against India’s illegal occupation.
Referring to the age-old political, cultural and religious bond between the people of Kashmir and Pakistan, the PM said that the bond between the people of both regions was unbreakable.
“The basic relationship between Pakistan and Kashmir is based on Islamic faith,” he said, adding that no one could harm the relationship.
Taking a jibe at the Indian prime minister, PM Haq said that nobody could dent this relationship even if thousands of Modis come together.
Prime Minister Haq said that his government would focus on developing far-flung areas of the state which were neglected in the previous tenures.
“Hollow slogans, empty assurances and false announcements have spoiled us,” he said, adding that time had come to change this culture.
The prime minister said that the government was providing a subsidy of Rs71 billion on electricity and flour.
The PM said that despite limited resources the government had fulfilled its demands, adding that there was a dire need that the people must also acknowledge their duties towards the state. He said that the government was keen to address the issue of unemployment and provide basic amenities of life to the people.
The PM also announced a slew of development schemes including the grant of town committee status and police station for Tatta Pani.
He announced Rs15 crore for the construction of buildings for a school and civil hospital.
The PM said that the process of issuing buses to girls’ colleges of AJK had been completed and a bus for transportation of students of Government College Tatta Pani would be provided within the next 20 days.
Earlier, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq received a grand welcome from people on his way from Kotli to Tatta Pani. The prime minister was accompanied by AJK ministers, civil servants and top officials of the government.
The PM also inaugurated two mega development projects including the improvement and reconditioning of 12km long Tatta Pani-Goi Road and the 9.5km road from Rahian to Sawar.
