New York: Former US Special Envoy to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad has said that there are indications that Pakistan’s Parliament may ban PTI in the next few days.
Former American diplomat Zalmay Khalilzad has said in his tweet that the government may ask the Supreme Court to disqualify Imran Khan for election, these steps are likely to increase political polarization and violence.
Zalmay Khalilzad said that it seems that the government has decided to make Imran Khan the enemy number one of the state. Such actions will deepen Pakistan’s political, economic and security crisis.
Zalmay Khalilzad said that some countries have already suspended investment in Pakistan and the agreement with the IMF is also uncertain. The above measures will further reduce international support for Pakistan.
Zalmay Khalilzad said that it is hoped that the political leadership of Pakistan will come out of the destructive politics that harms the national interest and if it does not, my concern about Pakistan is increasing.
