Sweet aroma of the ‘King of fruits’ attracts throngs of UAE residents to the ‘Mango Festival’ at Pakistan Association Dubai

DUBAI: Pakistan’s Mango Festival captivated everyone in Dubai as the aroma along with the taste of Pakistani mangoes and mouthwatering dishes prepared from delicious mangoes are being presented to diplomats of various countries, business community and Pakistani diaspora in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Two-day mango festival kicked off in the premises of Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) as the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan was the chief guest of the event. Consul General of Pakistan to Dubai Hassan Afzaal Khan along with Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan announced the beginning of the Pakistan Mango festival 2022.
The festival is arranged under the patronage of Pakistan Consulate Dubai in association with Pakistan Business Council Dubai.
Pakistan’s Consul General to Dubai Hassan Afzaal Khan said that the Mango Festival was not only providing an opportunity to introduce Pakistani mangoes to other countries but also creating business opportunities for Pakistani importers doing business in Dubai.
Diplomats from various countries who served in Dubai also described the taste of Pakistani mango as exclusive and unique at the Pakistan Mango Festival.
US diplomats deputed in Dubai, dressed up in green resembling to the Pakistani flag, attended the festival and looked quite impressed with the taste of Pakistani mangoes.
While British diplomats also recounted Pakistani mangoes that were presented in the festival as better than decorated available mangoes in supermarkets.
Taking a sip of mango ice cream, she said that the dishes prepared from mango enhanced the taste and “absolutely delicious”.
Diplomats from Kazakhstan, Turkey and the Philippines were also seen enjoying Pakistani mangoes and their invaluable sweet, salty and sour dishes.
President Pakistan Business Council Dubai Iqbal Dawood said the Mango Festival is expected to boost Pakistani mango trade in Dubai. He pointed out that the better marketing and mango packaging could increase the value and exports of Pakistani mangoes.
The festival features more than 50 varieties of Pakistani mangoes, the sweetness of which has won the hearts of many attendees.
President, Pakistan Association Dubai, Dr Faisal Akram said that Pakistan’s mango diplomacy was forging friendly relations with the international community. Dr Faisal added that the sweetness of Pakistani mangoes have ability to turn friend into boom companion and foe into compeer.
While, the major importer of Pakistani mangoes in Dubai and owner of Pakistan Super Market Haji Yaseen said that there are only two seasons in the UAE, one is little cold weather and the other is Pakistani mango season which everyone eagerly waits for .
The Mango Festival is a two-day festival that would attract residents across the United Arab Emirates(UAE).
