LHC reinstated Parvez Elahi as Chief Minister of Punjab

Lahore: The Lahore High Court revoked the governor’s order on behalf of Pervaiz Elahi to submit an affidavit and to assure him not to dissolve the assembly and restored him to the post of Chief Minister of Punjab.

When the hearing of the Chief Minister’s denotification case resumed, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi gave a written assurance to the Lahore High Court that he would not dissolve the Assembly if he was reinstated as the Chief Minister.

The court adjourned the hearing till January 11, 2022, asking the Punjab Governor to undertake to withdraw its order. After the court order, Pervez Elahi and the Punjab Cabinet will be reinstated till January 11.

The Lahore High Court has issued a written order on the petition to restore Parvez Elahi to the post of Chief Minister, according to which a five-member bench headed by Justice Abid Aziz Shaikh has issued a written order.

It is said in the order that this order of the court does not prevent Chaudhry Pervez Elahi from taking the vote of confidence, important legal points have been raised in the petition and notices are issued to the relevant parties, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and his cabinet interim measures. is restored as

According to the court order, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi’s lawyer swore that he will not dissolve the assembly, the Punjab Governor’s de-notification order is suspended while the Chief Minister and the Cabinet are restored to their original positions.
