Islamabad: After Lieutenant General Asim Munir became the new Army Chief, Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas has decided to take premature retirement.
According to sources, Lt. Gen. Azhar Abbas was retiring on April 27, 2023.
Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lt Gen Faiz Hameed is also planning to retire, Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s retirement date is 30 April 2023.
Lt Gen Azhar Abbas and Lt Gen Faiz Hameed are from PMA Long Course.
On the other hand, the summary for Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Army Chief consisted of six Lt. Gens. The remaining four lieutenant generals are also from the PMA long course.
