Islamabad: The government has appointed Lt. Gen. (R) Nazir Ahmed as Chairman NAB.
The Cabinet approved the appointment of Lieutenant General Retired Nazir Ahmed as Chairman NAB through the circulation summary, while the opposition leader and the Prime Minister also met for the appointment of the new Chairman, in which the name of the National Accountability Bureau chief was agreed upon.
After the resignation of Aftab Sultan, the consultation for the new Chairman NAB was going on.
The new Chairman NAB, Lieutenant General Retired Nazir Butt, has been the Military Secretary of three Prime Ministers, while he has also been appointed as the Defense Attaché in Washington and the Commandant of the Pakistan Military Academy Kakul.
The new Chairman NAB Lt. Gen. Retired Nazir Butt has also performed the duties of Corps Commander Peshawar.
