Mohamed Zakria urges Ulema to highlight plight of Muslims

JOHANNESBURG: Mian Mohamed Zakria, Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Pakistan Association of Southern Africa (PASA), has urged the Ulema to play their role in highlighting the inhuman atrocities being faced by Muslims in various countries.

He said the Ummah is facing multiple problems, adding that Muslims of Kashmir, Palestine, Myanmar and Syria are suffering the most inhuman atrocities and it is a clear evidence that the Ummah is divided and shattered.

“We are confident that only the Ulema can reunite the Ummah in this devastating situation,” Mohamed Zakria said. “We as PASA humbly request the Ulema of the country (South Africa) to consider the hardships of Kashmiri, Palestinian, Myanmar and Syrian Muslims and raise this matter before the general public and Muslim Ummah through their ‘Beyan’ of Juma Mubarak,” he added.

Talking about the Indian-held Kashmir, Mohamed Zakria said: “Kashmiri brothers and sisters are facing much stricter lockdown continuously for the last two years; they don’t even have freedom of communication through media, social media or internet.

“We must now understand what lockdown means as Allah has recently shown the whole world through Covid-19 that how horrible an impact just a few weeks of lockdown can have on a normal human life. Imagine Kashmiri people’s lives who are in the worse kind of lockdown for such a long time and yet we, as Ummah, don’t find it important to talk about it.”

Mohamed Zakria said that it is not just a geo political issue between two neighbouring countries, but is also a human crisis. “By staying quiet, we must not also become a part of this injustice while our Deen stresses so much on justice,” he said.

“So please, pray for the people of Kashmir and condemn the violence there. Along with it, pray for the Ummah’s unity in this month of mercy,” Mian Mohamed Zakria urged the Ulema.
