Multan Sultans Triumph Over Karachi Kings, Secure Playoff Spot

Karachi: Multan Sultans clinched their spot in the playoffs of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 by defeating Karachi Kings with a 20-run victory.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Multan Sultans set an imposing target of 190 runs for Karachi Kings.

Under the leadership of captain Mohammad Rizwan, the Sultans posted a commanding total of 189 for 3 in their allotted 20 overs, fueled by Usman Khan’s breathtaking century, who scored 106 runs off just 59 balls. Rizwan contributed 58 runs to the tally, while Reeza Hendricks added 13.

Karachi Kings’ bowling unit struggled to contain the onslaught, with Mira Rabani and Hasan Ali managing to take a wicket each.

In reply, Karachi Kings fell short of the target, reaching only 169 for 7 in their 20 overs. Despite efforts from Shoaib Malik and Shan Masood, who scored 38 and 36 runs respectively, Multan Sultans’ bowlers maintained the pressure. Usama Mir led the bowling attack with 2 crucial wickets, supported by David Wiese, Mohammad Ali, Chris Jordan, and Khushdil Shah, each taking one wicket.

With this thrilling victory, Multan Sultans secure their place in the playoffs, displaying their resilience and skill in a captivating match against Karachi Kings.
