Marghoob Saleem Butt has been named Pakistan’s ambassador to Switzerland. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Aamir Shaukat, who is presently Pakistan’s ambassador to Switzerland, will now take on the role of ambassador to Egypt. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also set up a Crisis Management Unit (CMU) in Syria to assist Pakistanis amidst the ongoing unrest following recent regime changes. The CMU is working to help Pakistani citizens deal with the volatile situation in the country.
