Mushaal Distributes Winter Kits to Kashmiri Refugees

Islamabad: In a compassionate gesture aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by refugees from the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, embarked on a two-day visit to Kashmiri Refugees Camp Muzaffarabad.

Accompanied by Focal Person Sabien Hussein Mullick and DG Legal Aid and Justice Authority Dr. Raheem Awan, SAPM Mushaal Mullick personally distributed winter kits to vulnerable families residing in the camp. The kits, comprising warm clothing, blankets, thermal socks, gloves, and other essential items, are part of a broader initiative to provide critical relief to refugees grappling with the harsh winter conditions in AJK.

During her visit, Mushaal engaged in heartfelt conversations with the refugees, emphasizing the collective responsibility to extend support to those in need. She conveyed that the winter kits were a means to provide comfort and relief to the courageous individuals and families compelled to live away from their homeland due to Indian atrocities in IIOJK.

Expressing unwavering solidarity, Mushaal assured the refugees that they would not be alone in their plight. She reiterated the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to alleviate the pain of forced eviction from homes in IIOJK. In addition to utilizing public funds for AJK, she announced the diversion of private funding towards the region for its uplift.

Addressing the refugees, Mushaal assured them that the recent aid distribution was not a one-time effort but part of an ongoing commitment. She announced a Ramadan package aimed at providing sustained relief during the holy month and expressed her steadfast commitment to establishing proper education facilities for children within the Kashmiri refugees camps.

Mushaal Mullick also voiced her belief in the liberation of Kashmir from Indian occupation, envisioning a day when refugees would be able to return to their homes and reunite with their loved ones. She criticized India’s actions in IIOJK, highlighting the distribution of domiciles to non-Kashmiris as an attempt to alter the demographic landscape.

Calling for immediate UN action, Mushaal urged the facilitation of a plebiscite in accordance with resolutions, allowing displaced families to return, reunite, and rebuild their lives in a peaceful environment. As a testament to her commitment, she undertook a visit to Central Jail Muzaffarabad, ensuring necessary measures to facilitate prisoners, emphasizing the importance of fundamental human rights for all.

In a symbolic act of compassion, Mushaal distributed winter kits among the prisoners to provide them with some relief during the colder months. She emphasized the role of prisons as correctional facilities aimed at reformation and stressed that individuals, whether convicts or under-trials, were entitled to fundamental human rights, which the state remains duty-bound to protect and preserve at any cost.
