The National Assembly on Friday resonated with unanimous fervour extending sincere sympathies and solidarity to the Palestinians resistance against Israeli occupation and the assassination of the Hamas Chief Ismail Haniyeh.
The Lower House of the Parliament here during the second meeting of the eighth session passed the resolution, to express complete solidarity with the Palestinian brethren and extended condolences to the bereaved family of the martyr Ismail Haniyeh and the people of Palestine, in complete agreement of the Opposition and the Treasury benches.
Taking to the floor during the debate on the resolution, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui vehemently condemned the killing of the Hamas Leader and Palestinian Resistance Leader, Ismail Haniyeh.
He underscored that the House had declared Israel a terrorist state responsible for mass killings and unbridled human rights violations. Siddiqui called for stock taking of the role of OIC in response to the months long conflict going in Gaza.
The Minister demanded the country and the Muslim ummah to take steps beyond resolutions to ensure peace and security of innocent Palestinians. He termed the fatal attack on Haniyeh as an assault on the ummah and the Pakistani nation.

Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer, Amir Muqam said the Pakistani nation’s sentiments and sympathies were with the people of Palestine whereas this resolution was a propitious step. He urged all the parliamentary parties to participate in the walk on Youm-e-Istehsaal-e-Kashmir on August 5th from Radio Pakistan building till D-Chowk to condemn Indian oppression and state-sponsored terrorism in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
MNA, Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri of Jamiaat Ulema-i-Islam Pakistan (JUI-P) condemned the killing of Ismail Haniyeh in a missile attack in Tehran.
He said the claim of Israel is illegitimate on the Palestinian land as it was created illegally by the imperial forces that led to the decades’ long resistance of innocent Palestinians to liberate their occupied land.
Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z), Chief, MNA Ijaz-ul-Haq said the attack on Ismail Haniyeh was against the sovereignty of the state of Iran whereas the resolution was a good omen to express solidarity with consensus whereas such unity should also be demonstrated on other collective issues of the country.
Chairman Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP), MNA, Mahmood Khan Achakzai said Pakistan should file case against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as the murderer of humanity.
The National Assembly session was adjourned to meet again on Monday on August 5th at 11:30 am.
