Islamabad: In the Islamabad High Court, there has been great progress in the 25-year-old cases against former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.
NAB has decided to withdraw the appeals against the acquittal of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari. NAB filed a request to withdraw four appeals in the High Court.
NAB said in the application that further prosecution of appeals would be a futile exercise, photocopies of documents against Zardari are also hardly on record, the available documentary evidence is not in accordance with the law of evidence.
It should be remembered that Asif Zardari was acquitted in acquiring Ursus Tractor, ARY Gold, Polo Ground and SSG. NAB had challenged the acquittal of Asif Zardari since 2015.
