Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo and former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, paid a visit to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence.
Nawaz Sharif, accompanied by Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Ishaq Dar, met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman after attending proceedings at the Islamabad High Court regarding the Al Azizia reference case.
Sources revealed that the meeting began with Nawaz Sharif offering condolences to Maulana Fazlur Rehman over the loss of his mother-in-law. The leaders then engaged in discussions about the upcoming elections, exploring potential seats adjustments.

Expressing their solidarity and commitment to a shared political journey, both leaders spoke to the media after the meeting. Maulana Fazlur Rahman emphasized the long-standing history of their collaboration, highlighting their joint efforts for democracy and the people’s rights.
Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman affirmed their determination to continue working together and make necessary adjustments in electoral matters. Maulana Fazlur Rahman stressed the importance of everyone having the right to participate in politics, emphasizing their past united stance against what they deemed an illegitimate government.
Prior to this meeting, Nawaz Sharif had been actively involved in political activities in Murree, where local leadership invited him to contest elections from the area. The leaders also discussed internal party dynamics, including reported interest from Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s son in securing a PML-N ticket, similar to the family of Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.”
