Nawaz to land in Islamabad instead of Lahore to surrender before IHC

Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, Nawaz Sharif, is set to arrive at the Islamabad International Airport instead of Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport, according to legal sources within the party who are well-acquainted with the situation.

The former Prime Minister of Pakistan is expected to land in the capital city, Islamabad, rather than Lahore, as he prepares to appear before the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Legal sources in the PML-N have revealed that Nawaz Sharif will surrender himself before the IHC and appeal for the suspension of his sentence. Notably, several appeals related to his cases are currently pending before the Islamabad High Court.

Meanwhile, in light of Israel’s recent tragic rocket attack on a Gaza hospital, resulting in the loss of over 500 lives, the PML-N has decided to cancel an event that was planned to launch a party anthem commemorating the return of Nawaz Sharif.

PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif had been scheduled to unveil the new party anthem, but the decision to cancel the event reflects the party’s sensitivity to global events and a desire to show solidarity with the victims of the tragic incident.

In a separate legal development, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) is currently in session to consider two petitions filed on behalf of Nawaz Sharif. These petitions seek protective bail for Nawaz Sharif in connection with the Al-Azizia and Avonfield references, reflecting the legal complexities surrounding the former Prime Minister’s ongoing legal battles.
