Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, Culture, and National Heritage, Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that the next general election would only be held in 2029 upon completion of the constitutional tenure of the incumbent government.
Minister Tarar’s statement comes amidst escalating political discourse following remarks made by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, who called for new elections citing concerns over the transparency and legitimacy of the February general elections.
Responding to Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s press conference, Minister Tarar emphasized the importance of political dialogue within the Parliament. “The solution to all political challenges lies in negotiations and dialogue,” he asserted.
