Karachi: No one has any objection to coming to Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board explained.
In the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council in Bahrain, there was a discussion regarding Pakistan’s hosting of the Asia Cup, India refused to come to Pakistan on the pretext of not getting permission from its government and held the tournament in the UAE or any other neutral venue. But while the PCB is opposing it, the final decision in this regard is now expected in March.
Foreign website ‘Cricinfo’ claimed in its report that all the Asian Cricket Council members have been asked to seek their governments’ position on visiting Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board explained in its statement that nothing of this kind took place in the meeting and neither did any of the members indicate to get clearance from their government regarding the tour of Pakistan. The Sri Lankan team has toured Pakistan in 2017 and 2019, Bangladesh also toured Pakistan in 2020.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have confirmed Pakistan tours in the future tour program from 2023 to 2027 released by the ICC.
