Islamabad: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification to increase the price of gas up to 113%, which will be applicable only for the month of January.
After the increase in the prices of petroleum products by the government, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of gas from sixteen percent to 113 percent. Domestic consumers consuming 25 cubic meters of gas per month have been exempted from the increase.
The notification states that the gas tariff of two categories of protected domestic consumers has been reduced by 16 and 33 percent. The new gas prices notified by OGRA will be effective from January 1 to June 30, 2023.
According to the notification issued by Ogra, domestic consumers have been divided into protected and non-protected categories. The announcement said that 4 slabs of protected categories have been created, the protected category includes consumers of 25 cubic meters per month, while the consumers of 50 cubic meters, 60 cubic meters and 90 cubic meters per month are also included in the protected category.
According to Statement, gas has been increased by 16 to 113 percent for various sectors including domestic consumers. The increase has been made on the advice of the Petroleum Division, the domestic consumers have been divided into 12 categories of protected and non-protected. The fixed charge has been increased by Rs 50 on protected customers and Rs 500 on non-protected customers.
