NPAC, DG ISPR vow joint push for national narrative

Meeting at GHQ stresses unity against terrorism, hate speech and hostile propaganda

RAWALPINDI: A delegation of the National Peace and Action Committee (NPAC) met Director General Inter-Services Public Relations at General Headquarters on January 13, 2026, where both sides reaffirmed full cooperation to promote the national narrative and counter state-hostile propaganda.

According to officials, the meeting expressed unwavering solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces and a shared resolve to confront narratives aimed at undermining the state. Participants strongly condemned Fitna al-Khawarij, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and Afghan Taliban-linked militancy, stressing that terrorism has no justification.

The DG ISPR underscored that consensus on national security matters and unity on the national narrative are an urgent need of the time. Detailed discussions were held on internal security in the context of Fitna al-Khawarij, TTP and TTA, with both sides noting that a common stance had been further strengthened.

The meeting also reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled position on Kashmir and Gaza, terming support for oppressed peoples a moral responsibility of the state.

NPAC announced plans to promote messages of unity of the Muslim Ummah, social harmony and constitutional equality from mosques and religious platforms across the country. The committee and the DG ISPR agreed on a zero-tolerance policy against hate speech, sectarianism and takfiri narratives.

The DG ISPR said public awareness and a truth-based narrative were decisive tools against the enemy’s psychological warfare. NPAC proposed increasing awareness and guidance sessions in mosques, seminaries and universities to further strengthen the state narrative.

The meeting was termed unusually productive, with both sides expressing confidence that it would open new avenues of trust and practical cooperation in the future.
