Our Gujranwala Jalsa Will Be Last

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Our Gujranwala Jalsa Will Be Last on Saturday announced the end of present phase of his “Haqeeqi Azadi Tehreek” (movement for real freedom).

“Tomorrow our Gujranwala jalsa will be last of our present phase of Haqeeqi Azadi Movement,” he wrote on his official Twitter handle.

Imran said that he will announce the next “critical” phase during the public gathering on Saturday. “Imported govt & its handlers are so petrified that nation is standing firmly behind PTI they are desperately moving on Minus 1 formula,” he further said.

The former premier had announced the movement against the current rulers in April during a rally at Lahore’s Minar-e-Pakistan, terming it the “real freedom movement”.

Cricketer-turned-politician was voted out of power through a vote of a no-confidence motion earlier in the year, becoming the first prime minister in the country’s history to be unseated by a parliamentary revolt.

The joint opposition’s no-confidence motion, which required 172 votes in the 342-strong parliament to pass, was supported by 174 lawmakers, shaking the political earth of the country with an unprecedented move.

Earlier, in another tweet, Imran Khan had said that his movement for “real freedom” will continue alongside the flood relief work.

Our senior leadership met and we decided I would do [an] international telethon to raise funds for flood affectees, he wrote.

He said that ‘Imran Tigers’, a term he uses for PTI’s tiger force, will be activated to volunteer for relief work. “A committee under Sania Nishtar will be set up to identify and coordinate funds allocation based on needs,” he added.
