DUBAI: Under the umbrella of UAE AID, Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) is partnering with Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) to mobilise the Pakistani community for Palestine.
PAD will serve as one of the collection points in the city and will be delivering donations to ERC.
In line with the UAE’s humanitarian values, the ‘Tarahum – for Gaza’ campaign was initiated last week in the UAE to offer support to those impacted by the Gaza Strip conflict. The initiative aims to provide relief to the at-risk population in the war-affected zone.
PAD General Secretary Zahid Hassan said, “We are proud of this partnership with ERC and hope to play our role in strengthening the UAE’s efforts to lead this important humanitarian
The ongoing conflict has had a devastating impact on over one million children – about half of the Gaza Strip’s population is young children.
PAD Welfare Committee head Faisal Sunka also urged the community to come forward and support this critical need of the hour. “This is an opportunity to make a significant difference. Let’s unite our efforts and provide much-needed assistance to those affected by the tragedy unfolding in Gaza. Together, PAD aims to stand with the UAE in offering hope to the countless lives in despair.”
PAD has requested and urged the Pakistani community to come forward and donate emergency shelter essentials such as tents, tarpaulins, clothes, canned food, dates, blankets, hygiene products, and essential items for babies such as nutritional supplements.
The community can visit www.pad.ae for guidelines and a full list of acceptable items for donation.
